| The Awesome One | Arik just stated in another thread that in regards to an episode of Enterprise, he wanted his forty minutes back. So I was struck with an idea. I wondered exactly how much time I"ve devoted to Star trek. Realizing that there was no possible way to accuratley guage the amount of time spent on watching reruns, movies for the fifteenth time, reading books, comics etc... I figured I could at least figure out how much "first run" time I've given to Paramount. Here goes... This figure does not take into account commercials, movie previews or potty breaks. So I add up all the time of all the episodes of all the series, at an average length of forty minutes apiece. I included all series, as I've seen every episode aired to date. I even included the animated series as I have it on my PC right now ![]() The I added up all the run times of all the movies. What I came up with, was 29256 minutes of my life given to Star Trek. That's about 20 days of my life. Now, take into account the fact that I"ve watched MOST of these episodes and movies AT THE VERY LEAST two times each. That's about 40 days. Then take into account all the episodes that I really liked and watched repeatedly (can't even come up with a number) all the books I've read, all tthe models I've built, all the comics I've read. etc.... WOW! So you can see Arik, I'm not too concerned about 40 mins ![]()

![]() | Put together the time for all the episodes of TOS, TAS, TNG, DS9, VGR, ENT, the movies and any documentaries (TREKKIES 1 & 2) and You've got way more than a month of straight Trek. Could a TOTAL TREK NETWORK be possible?

| The Awesome One | Well, when you add up all of the times, you get 29,256 minutes total. Now that is a rough figure, and doesn't include Trekkies 1 or 2, but it's as far as I can tell, pretty accurate. Although I was REALLY tired when I did it ![]()

| Astro-Monkey | Yeah, but those 40 minutes I could have spent working on my time machine so I could go back in time and tell myself not to invest those 40 minutes in the show. ![]()

![]() | I guess a "Trek" network would be POSSIBLE, but unlikely. They'd run through all their programming in under a month, even if you included various specials and documentaries from across the years. I really wish some channel would have a "Star Trek Day", in which we'd get an episode of TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT all in a row.

| Religious Fanatic | I remember one great time when for a good part of a year, Sky One did 4 hours of Star Trek in a row EVERY Saturday and Sunday afternoon, with an episode of each Trek (this was WAY before Enterprise was created). They still do like 3 episodes now, but they're always Voyagers or season 1/2 TNGs, accompanied by a re-run of Monday's new Enterprise.
