![]() | Never read the novel, never saw the Walken movie... But I love the TV series. I watched it initially in the first season, but not regularly, and saw about five out of the thirteen episodes. I thought it was good, but could never commit myself to watching every week. The same, only less so, with Season 2. Now, though, I convinced my girlfriend to watch Season 3 with me, and we've been hooked every week. She wasn't sure she'd like it, but about an hour before the second episode, she said, "Are you ready for 'The Dead Zone' tonight?" and just last night, she was upset that she didn't set her VCR to record it. Luckily, it wasn't on this week. A couple weeks ago, I ordered the first season on DVD, and we went through it in two days. I just ordered the second season, and we'll be all caught up soon enough. But it's a great show. Great characters, great stories, some good acting. I was surprised by Anthony Michael Hall, who I'd only seen in those silly John Hughes movies from the 80s like "The Breakfast Club" (which is at the top of my list of GOOD MOVIES WITH TERRIBLE ENDINGS). But he's really cool. It's nice to see Nicole deBoer, as I think I was one of about three people who actually liked her as Ezri Dax on DS9. John Adams' "Bruce" character is hilarious. Kristen Dalton's hot, though sadly and mysteriously missing from Season 3... The show definitely uses its premise to the fullest extent, which is something I wish certain OTHER sci-fi shows out there would do... And it's not above doing a few jokes at its own expense. In the most recent episode, Johnny uses his visions to help shop for his son's birthday gift. At one point, he picks up some kind of rock collection, and gets a vision of his son ripping off the paper at the party, and all the kids laughing. Johnny says, "Hm... nothing geological." You guys all remember how I raved about "24" a few years go. Well, now it's time for "The Dead Zone". I just wish I hadn't come in so late. Hopefully, this won't be another "Angel," where the show gets cancelled just as I finally realize how damn great it is.

| Religious Fanatic | I meant to watch that when it came out, but I didn't realise it had gotten to the UK untill it was basically too late to get into, plus it's on the Sci-Fi channel, which I only ever watch for Quantumn Leap every now and them. The problem with British TV is that TV channels rarely advertise new programing on other channels, unless they are members of the same group. If the Sci-Fi channel had any sense they'd pay Sky One to advertise it's programming during Sky's genre programming like Star Trek, Buffy, Angel, Stargate etc.

| Astro-Monkey | Yeah, USA's got a couple of great original shows. Between TDZ, Monk, and Touching Evil, it's one of my favorite networks. I TiVo'd The 4400 last night, can't wait to see how that one was.

![]() | I missed "The 4400", so I'm hoping it gets rerun soon. I like Monk, too, it's funny. I haven't seen "Touching Evil," though, and I haven't really heard much about it.

| Religious Fanatic | Problem with downloading is that unless a file is on a server, then the only way to get it at a decent speed is when it's brand new.
