Default Smallville's going to hell...

...Sadly. The first season was good. The second season was fantastic... but the third was a turd. Storylines that went nowhere or were sloppily constructed, individual episodes that went nowhere or were sloppily constructed, every conversation between Lana and Clark was essentially the same ("I want to be with you, but I can't" bla bla bla)...

Terrible!

And now Season 4 is shaping up to be even more of the same. Spoilers!

Chloe may not be dead. Spoilers indicate that she is, in fact, in hiding, and sending messages to Clark via computer for him to help her find out who killed her father. Please. That house fucking exploded. If this one turns out to be true, I'll piss myself.

Lex won't be evil anytime soon. COME ON. How much longer is this going to take? Every time he takes a step towards it, he takes two steps back. It's ridiculous. If the producers aren't willing to take any risks and step forward with their characters, then this show DESERVES to END.

Lois and Clark have romantic sparks. Yay. Y'know what, that's wicked lame. Here's why: for the past three years, Clark has been pining after Lana, who is nothing like Chloe. And yet, Lois, as described, and as all know her, essentially IS Chloe. So why, then, is Clark suddenly going to do this big turn-around now that he thinks Chloe is gone, and for a character that is essentially the same? Guilt? If they play that angle, it'll probably be alright. But if a genuine romance starts to spark with little explanation, it seems almost like a betrayal of everything that happened in Season 2.
