![]() | It's an alright set - the special features are fairly anemic, just a commentary (albeit a good one) on the 90-minute pilot and a fifteen minute featurette on the last disc that doesn't even talk to the entire cast. But the audio and visual quality is good, much better than watching it on TV. Plus, no commercials and it hasn't been shortened for syndication. The only real problem with the set is, get this; THE EPISODES ARE OUT OF ORDER. I mean, what the shit is that all about? Episode 2 is on Disc 2, and is the fourth episode, episode 3 actually comes before it, on the previous disc. Once I noticed this, I had to look up the correct order on the internet. It seems that the DVD set is in the order that Fox aired the series, which was also incorrect. Sad. But, I'm glad to just have the series on DVD. It's a great show. If you guys haven't seen it, definitely check it out. These earlier episodes are top-notch, before Fox started pushing cheap gimmick-of-the-week episodes in the third season, usually ripping off recent popular blockbusters like "Twister". They even did an episode with SENTIENT FIRE.... ugh. And they dropped all the interesting recurring characters, like stoner physics genius Conrad Bennish, or dopey dipshit Hurley. These guys are totally awesome. SG-1 fans will recognize Hurley as the guy who calls out "Chevron encoded!" everytime they dial the Gate. Get this set!

![]() | Well, you don't need to buy the last three... Just resist completist urges! Also, I thought S3 was really only half-shit. One of the show's best episodes was earlier on in S3, when Quinn tries to train his younger alternate self to defend himself from schoolyard bullies and romances the elementary school teacher he'd had a crush on.

| Astro-Monkey | Yeah, "The Guardian" was one of the better epsidoes, and possibly worth whatever they'd charge for season 3... It'd be interesting to see if they continue their airing of the episodes out of order, because of how Fox muffed it in the 3rd season... ![]()

| Astro-Monkey | But, you're right. The first couple of seasons were consistantly excellent, both in terms of characterizations, and in the writer's abilities to come up with cool sci-fi plots, and explore the ideas raised in them. At least the first season should be required viewing for anyone who wants to claim to be a sci-fi fan.

![]() | All the worlds they visited were awesome - all really good alternate history type places, like where women are the bosses, or where Australia was the new Vietnam because of different outcomes of World War II. THose were the cool places they went to. Even the world where Lawyers were gunshooters was such a neat twist. It really was a great show. Of all the shows out there ripe for a remake, I think "Sliders" would be at the top of my list. If Tracy Torme had remained in charge of the show, if the intelligent storytelling had continued. The Kromagg storyline wouldn't have gone so far downhill, there never would have been such silly things like Quinn being from another world, hidden away from the Kromaggs or his brother Colin.
