![]() | I was out picking up Joss Whedon's "Astonishing X-Men" which is now getting me back into the monthly comic run, and saw that there was an SG-1 series out, so I picked up the first issue. I don't know how many parts it will be, but it's called "The Fall of Rome" and it's pretty interesting. The SG-1 team goes to some planet to investigate the possibility that the natives have technology that would let them "phase" through solid objects by altering their molecular structure. Once they get there, though, the aliens warn them to leave, for their own safety, just before an army of ROMAN Jaffa enter and take them all hostage. The artwork is a little weak, but the writing isn't bad at all. I like the idea of exploring Roman Goa'ulds. One of the Jaffa says that they worshop Mars, the god of war. The story takes place in the second season of the show, and it was interesting to see that one of the Jaffa tries to defend Teal'c by pointing out that he belongs to Apophis. And of course, it just wouldn't be SG-1 without the humor. The planet has a larger sulfur content in its atmosphere than Earth, so when they exit the gate, O'Neill looks at Teal'c and says, "Oh, man, what did I tell you about letting one loose?" Teal'c replies, "I have not relinquished anything since we entered the Stargate..." It's pretty short, being just one issue of a comic. So we'll see how the other issues go. But it was good enough for me to buy the next one in a month.

| It's me again | About 6 months ago they released a 4 issue, high quality release, which I bought the first two issues. The art work was ok and the story was a little thin, but I figured, who knows, maybe it will have some value if I hang on to it.
