Seriously, this kind of shit (spammers trying to use internet boards to harvest suckers) really blows. I'm not entirely sure how to stop it at the outset, because this board uses distorted text images (I forget what it's called) to thwart automated user registration, so this guy must have manually registered. I'm assuming that he'll be banned (I wouldn't expect this kind of thing to be tolerated, since we only want drunks, not commie spammers

Huh. I thought he was banned. That's usually taken care of before I see the message.

I could make it tougher for spammers to do their thing, but I don't really want to. I kinda like watching everyone beat up on them.

No kidding... I've often wanted to DOS them or otherwise make their life miserable... but that kinda puts me on their level.... *sigh* having morals sucks sometimes.

Out of curiosity... what would you do to make it harder for them?

The only morals that I have are the ones that I can afford.

If I wanted to make it harder for them, I'd start by turning on email verification. Then, there's a hack that requires X number of posts before posting a hyperlink that I'd install.

Cool... I thought there was email verification... but I guess that was just a welcome message. I feel so loved! Cool about the link hack... that would help as well.

But like you said... it is fun to talk about them behind their backs.
